Blood Pressure — High and Low

The importance of keeping your blood pressure down cannot be overestimated, and there are a number of natural ways that can help.

  • Talk slower (fast talkers often don’t breath properly and this can result in elevated blood pressure)
  • Reduce, if you are overweight (controlled, sensible dieting can significantly lower blood pressure in overweight individuals)
  • Decrease sodium and increase potassium in your diet Decrease your sugar intake
  • Eliminate caffeine
  • Eat more onions and garlic
  • Stop smoking
  • Avoid stress or anxiety-provoking situations (jangling everyday noises, even loud televisions, can cause stress and elevate blood pressure.

Why You Need Supplements During Illness

During illness the body is under stress. Cells are destroyed, exhausted adrenal glands deprived of nutrients are unable to function properly, and the body’s stress-fighting team of vitamin C, B6, folic acid, and pantothenic acid is severely depleted.

Because we require these vitamins to utilise effectively other nutrients and to keep our metabolism functioning all the time, our need for them is obviously increased when we’re ill. And since we know that fever and stress rob our body of its most essential nutrients, the importance of supplements is self- evident.
